Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center

The Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center (JGMC) continues the tradition of past UNL Culture Centers, providing a home away from home while welcoming all UNL students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests.

Constructed in 2010, JGMC is 30,000 square feet of absolute beauty and was built as the largest multicultural center attached to a student union. We are proud to serve as a shining example of what can be done to serve students, faculty, and staff. The JGMC offers resources and activities supportive of all - there is something here for all, no matter your age, identity(ies), or cultural background. We offer clubs, groups, and events geared to help you be a part of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus community.  We provide multiple study and lounge spaces, student organization offices, meeting and conference rooms.

Within the JGMC, we provide services through the Office of Academic Success and Intercultural Services (OASIS), while also supporting students. Our office proudly serves as an “oasis” for students seeking to find their way on our campus. Through one-on-one connections, OASIS works collaboratively with others to transform the campus into a community where members engage and build relationships through learned experiences, and supporting students throughout their academic careers. Our office also provides academic support designed to assist and supplement the work that UNL faculty is doing in academic spaces.
